The next step on the NFL’s road to Super Bowl 51 in Houston is organized team activities. Here are two teams to watch in the coming weeks as teams report.

Los Angeles Rams

The Los Angeles Rams will be featured in this year’s edition of HBO’s Hard Knocks, and as the team enters OTAs and their first season after returning to Los Angeles, many question marks surround the team.

After trading multiple draft picks for the rights to quarterback Jared Goff with the #1 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, the Rams find themselves with Case Keenum and Goff competing for the starting position. The team, which finished at a familiar 7-9 in 2015, had a rather quiet offseason aside from the NFL Draft.

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers are simply a mess. After parting ways with head coach Jim Tomsula after just one season, the team hired controversial head coach Chip Kelly to help right the ship.

The 49ers also have a quarterback controversy on their hands. After shutting Colin Kaepernick down toward the end of the 5-11 2015 campagin, the 49ers turned to Blaine Gabbert, who performed at an average-at-best level to round out the season. And with an offseason that saw Kaepernick at the center of multiple trade discussions and rumors, it remains to be seen whether or not Kaep will continue to captain San Francisco’s offense.
